A delightfully painted bird house not only looks great on the terrace or in the garden but with the right color, you can also protect the wood perfectly against adverse weather conditions. However, it should be noted that if you want to build your bird house yourself, you only use natural colors. The birds eventually will peck the food straight out of the birdhouse, and you don’t want them to be poisoned. So you can find in this article some bird house paint ideas.

Step 1: Bird house prime paint
In the first step, you prime the birdhouse from
all sides with white acrylic paint.
A foam stamp is great for this, but you can also use a brush.
Step 4: Prime the foil paper
Then you also prime a sheet of stamping foil with white acrylic paint.
Step 3: Paint the base color
As soon as the birdhouse has dried, you can paint it in an autumn yellow shade.
Mix the yellow acrylic paint with a little brown. Make sure that you don’t apply the paint too thickly.Don’t paint the roof of the bird house.
Step 4: Paint the roof
Then paint the roof of the birdhouse with orange acrylic paint.
Step 5: Print off the tree template
Then you print out the template for the tree and the leaves and cut everything out on the black line. Transfer the printings to the front of the birdhouse. Tip: You can also use carbon paper to transfer the designs on the bird house paint. Now paint the tree with a mixture of brown and black acrylic paint. For the leaves, you use alternating autumnal acrylic colors like orange, terracotta and olive green. Cut off a single branch from your tree template. You paint this on one side of the birdhouse as described in this step.
Step 6: Glue the ice cream sticks
When the paint has dried, cut the ice cream sticks ends. Then glue them as roof shingles overlapping from bottom to top of the roof. Use the waterproof wood glue for this.
Step 7: Paint bird house roof
Then, paint the roof shingles with orange acrylic paint. So that the color is not too viscous, you simply dilute it with a little water. As soon as the orange has dried, take a dry brush or foam stamp and wipe the surfaces with olive green acrylic paint and finally emphasize the edges. Tip: You can drag a foil and wipe the paint as you wish until it has the desired pattern.
Step 8: Cut the shapes of the pattern paper
Cut roughly six different owls (Or whatever pattern you have) of your choice. Cut the eyes and bodies separately. Then glue the eyes on top of the bodies. As soon as the glue has dried, you should cut out the shapes cleanly. It is best to use a pair of scissors.
