A DIY rabbit hutch is the best idea to guarantee your rabbit pet safety while letting the pet to play around freely. Instruments to construct the DIY rabbit hutch

  • Drill
  • Saw
  • Strip tape
  • Pencil
  • Protection Glasses
  • Ear Protection

Materials to make the DIY rabbit hutch

  • 4′ x 8′ Wood Panel
  • 2 x 4 x 8′ Studs
  • 2 x 2 x 8′ wood
  • 2-1/2″ Pocket Screws
  • 1-1/4″ Screws
  • 2-1/2″ Screws
  • Wood Adhesive

Step I

Firmly make some holes in the pocket side of wood using the drill and then join side woods with the 2-1/2″ screws. Then paint the structure and boards with outside veneer. After the veneer is dry, make sure to connect the boards with the 1-1/4″ screws. Then trim and staple the fixtures weave with 3/4″ staples.

Step 2

Repeat the same steps as explained in before, so make some holes in the pocket side of wood using the drill and then join side woods with the 2-1/2″ screws. Then paint the structure and boards with outside veneer. After the paint is dry, make sure to connect the boards with the 1-1/4″ screws. Then trim and staple the fixtures weave with 3/4″ staples.

Step 3

Re-do the exact actions as shown in the last step, then make some holes in the pocket side of wood using the drill and then join side woods with the 2-1/2″ screws. Then paint the structure and boards with outside veneer. After the paint is dry, make sure to connect the boards with the 1-1/4″ screws. Then trim and staple the fixtures weave with 3/4″ staples.

Step 4

The door is the gate of your pet to work, so take care when doing the steps explained. Make some holes in the pocket side of wood using the drill and then join side woods with the 2-1/2″ screws. Then paint the structure and boards with outside veneer. After the paint is dry, make sure to connect the boards with the 1-1/4″ screws. The dimensions are: 2x2x14-7/8″ by 2x2x15-1/4″ 

Step 5

Make some holes in the pocket side of wood using the drill and then join side woods with the 2-1/2″ screws. Then paint the structure and boards with outside veneer. After the paint is dry, make sure to connect the boards with the 1-1/4″ screws. use the following measures: 2x2x18-5/8″ by 2x2x17-7/8″ by 2x2x18-1/4″

Step 6

Make as the same last step but with these dimensions: 2x2x12-1/2″ by 2x2x19-1/4″ 

Step 7

Make the pocket drill holes and join the lid frame with  2-1/2″ pocket screws. The measures are 2x4x18″ by 2x4x55-1/2″, leaving 14″ spaces between each. 

Step 8

Drill the required holes, and assemble all the above pieces to make a hutch. 

Step 9

Now, set up the central board with the 1-1/4″  screws. Then, drill the ramp before installing it, then fix it using 2-1/2″ exterior wood screws. Then trim and staple the fixtures weave with 3/4″ staples.

Step 10: Enjoy the DIY rabbit hutch
