If you intend to have a pet but want something different that is neither a dog nor a cat, a good option would be a snake. There are almost 2,800 different species of snakes that have been discovered in the world. But not all snake species are kept as pets because some of their kinds are poisonous snakes.
The most common snakes are found in the families of Boidae, Python, and Colubridae. Although you can probably get almost any type of snake from a reptile or online exhibition, your pet snake species from these families are listed here:
Boas
It is one of the best-known snakes around the world. There are many types of boas, such as red tail boa and Kenyan sand boa. They are easy to find, especially in all of South America. Pythons

The common saying, “Red on yellow kills a man, but red on black is Jack’s friend” refers to the patterns of bands found in coral and dairy snakes. Coral snakes have red bands next to the yellow ones, while milk snakes have red bands next to the black ones.
Corn Snake
A kind of rat snake. The corn snake is a very popular snake among beginners due to its small size. It is also a snake dear to the experienced caregiver due to its different color patterns. Corn snakes usually measure approximately 5 feet. They are not known to bite and are quite docile snakes.
